Thank you for taking action to support increased transparency in the data center industry. Please customize the sample email to speak from the heart and to make your comments unique. For example, state your faith and congregation (if you have one), that you are a supporter of Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions, and why you personally support this legislation.
MAIN POINTS:
1. Examine the impact on water supply and other factors: When considering a new data center, the bill would allow localities to require a site assessment to examine the effect the facility would have on water and agricultural resources, parks and registered historic sites, and forestland.
2. Examine Impact of Noise on Surrounding Community: Prior to the zoning approval of a new high energy use facility (HEUF) such as data centers, this bill would require an applicant perform and submit a site assessment to examine the sound profile of the high energy use facility on residential units and schools located within 500 feet of the HEUF property boundary.
3. Only applies to new zoning applications: As long as the expansion doesn’t exceed an additional 100 megawatts or more of electrical power, this bill does not apply to a site with an existing approval for a modification of an already existing or approved facility.
